Contemporary Art Studio
Biography: Julia Schimanski is a 30 year old contemporary artist based in the Dorset countryside. She was born into an artistic family and raised in Scotland’s Grampian region. At 13, she moved to the south coast of England and became interested in producing her own artwork.
Julia is inspired by the ever changing faces of the seasons, the textures and the beautiful, seemingly abstract, patterns abundant in nature. From burnished brown tones, to the boldness or scarlet berries, nature’s colours both subtle and striking are omnipresent in her original artwork.
The Contemporary Art Studio, is a working gallery, but customers are always welcomed, however full the gallery is! Commissioned pieces can be easily created (your own sizes and colours). The turnaround time is normally 2 weeks.

‘I feel very lucky to live in a country where the seasons are so defined and inspiring. The countryside is on my doorstep and I enjoy it everyday. More than anything, I would like this to be reflected in my art. In my own way, I guess I’m trying to bring the outdoors in!’
